Comox Valley RCMP investigating early morning fire in Comox

Comox Valley RCMP is investigating after a person was discovered deceased in an early morning fire in Comox.

On September 4, 2024 at approximately 5:30 a.m. Comox Valley RCMP were called to assist with a structure fire on the 1200-block of Anderton Road in Comox. Upon entry into the residence, firefighters made the unfortunate discovery of a deceased individual.

We are saddened by this event and are committed to uncovering the facts surrounding this fire said Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP. 

Investigators from the Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime Unit and Integrated Forensic Identification Section are assisting and the BC Coroners Service has been notified and is conducting their own concurrent investigation. Comox Valley RCMP Victim Services is offering support to those affected by this incident.
