Plane crash in Tahsis Inlet results in two fatalities

Nootka Sound RCMP is investigating after a plane crashed in the Tahsis Inlet near Mozino Point on Vancouver Island.
On Tuesday June 20, 2023, at approximately 2:00 pm, the Nootka Sound RCMP were notified of a plane crash in the Tahsis Inlet near Mozino Point. Initial information indicated that the aircraft was occupied by 4 individuals flying from Masset to Tofino.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and the Coast Guard responded to the scene. Nootka Sound RCMP also responded by utilizing a police boat.
Unfortunately, the crash resulted in two fatalities.
The RCMP is working alongside the Transportation Safety Board and the BC Coroners Service to determine the cause of this incident.
