Suspicious person

On May 11 at 5pm a man reported an unknown person observed through a surveillance camera in his driveway earlier in the day. Police spoke with the man who stated that his spouse had informed him it was just a relative stopping by.

Liquor act

On May 12 at 10:30pm a woman reported seeing a heavily intoxicated man near Murray St. Police attended and located a man wobbling on his feet, with slurred, incoherent speech, and eyes half shut. The man was arrested for being intoxicated in public and held in cells overnight to safely sober up.

On May 17 at 1:30pm a woman reported seeing a heavily intoxicated man near Murray St. Police attended and located a man asleep in the bushes and drooling. The man was arrested for being intoxicated in public and held in cells to safely sober up.

Assault

On May 12 at 11pm a woman reported two males fighting in the 600 block of Main St. Police attended and located one intoxicated male on the ground with injuries. BC Ambulance attended to the male. The second male was later identified. Police are further investigating the matter. Utter threats

On May 14 at 8pm a man reported receiving a threatening phone call and text messages from an angry man, who shared a mutual female friend. The complainant reported that the angry man was angry the complainant had messaged the mutual female friend. The complainant wished police to speak with the angry man. Police spoke with the angry man who denied any threats, and understood there would be further police action if he continued to communicate with the complainant.

Collision

On May 16 at 9am BC Ambulance reported a single vehicle rollover on Hwy 99 near Pavilion lake. Lillooet RCMP attended and located a 2019 SUV upside down in the ditch. Lillooet Rescue attended and assisted in extracting the driver that was still in the vehicle. Both driver and passenger were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Further investigation revealed the SUV was driving without issue, then suddenly took a hard right into a rock face and flipped over into the ditch.

Mischief

On May 17 a woman reported her vehicle had the front passenger window smashed and vehicle rummaged though. The vehicle was locked and parked on Russell Lane over night when the incident occurred. Nothing of value was stolen.

On May 18 at 10am a woman reported a 24-year-old woman attempting to pull open a locked door at a local commercial building. Police attended and attempted to speak with the 24-year-old woman but she ran away from police, and relocated at the top of a stairwell. Local social services had rapport with the woman and agreed to speak with her. At 11am another woman reported the 24-year-old woman screaming on Main St, kicking and hitting parked vehicles with her backpack. Lillooet RCMP attended and attempted to speak with 24-year-old again, but she walked away from police. Police departed the area as she was extremely escalated and police presence was not helping. Police were called again about the same woman screaming and hitting parked vehicles. Police re-attended and again the woman walked away from police after being advised she was under arrest. After a brief foot chase, the woman quickly learned she could not outrun the police and was arrested behind the post office. The woman was provided further support at a local hospital. No vehicles were damaged.

On May 19 a woman reported a community well house was damaged on May 12 in Seton Portage. The complainant reported the well house door had been kicked in, causing the frame to hit a water line that burst, The complainant believed someone from a beach party on May 12 caused the damage, estimated at $500. Theft

On May 17 a man was observed on surveillance video stealing over the counter medication valued at $55 from a local grocery store. The store was not interested in pursuing criminal charges, but instead wished the man pay for the stolen item. Lillooet RCMP were able to identify the man through a police database system with information out of Alberta. Police contacted the man and discussed potential for a criminal charge. The man went to the grocery store and paid for the stolen item.
