Cst. Curtis Davies runs with a Special Olympics Athlete

On May 28, 2023 Creston RCMP hosted the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics BC. Police teamed up with Creston Fire Rescue for the event, which had close to 100 people attend and participate. The LETR raised $3,657 money for Creston Special Olympics, well over the goal of $3,000.
It was the first time this amazing event had been held in here in Creston, and many local Special Olympics athletes and supporters attended. Runners and walkers completed as many laps on the field as possible.

There was an outpouring of support from many local businesses, who donated door prizes, said S/Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk Creston RCMP Detachment Commander. I would like to specifically thank Pealow’s Independent Grocer for donating the food for the BBQ, and Creston Fire Rescue for managing the grills and supporting the event.

We love opportunities to support great causes, as it gives my officers the opportunity to build community relationships. Events like this are so meaningful to our local Special Olympics athletes and I am so proud of them. Seeing the smiles on their faces and their commitment to their respective sports, was truly humbling. It was an honour for my officer and I to be part of this event. says S/Sgt. Buliziuk.

Creston RCMP would like to thank everyone for their support and we hope to see you all again next year.
