Intoxicated in public:

On November 30th, the Kitimat RCMP detachment received a report of a person down near a pathway on the 900 block of Lahakas Blvd S. The responding officers located a male on scene who was intoxicated. The male was arrested for causing a disturbance by being intoxicated in public, and lodged at the Kitimat RCMP cells until sober and released without charges. (2023-4574)

Two vehicle collision:

During the morning commute of December 1st, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Haisla Blvd and Kuldo Blvd. The investigating officer found one vehicle had failed to stop for a red light, causing the collision. The driver was found to be driving without a valid driver’s license. As a result, the driver was provided a violation ticket for driving without due care and attention and no drivers license. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed from the scene. (2023-4582)

Single vehicle collision:

A report of a single vehicle collision along Highway 37, was reported to the Kitimat RCMP by the driver on December 1st. The area was receiving a large amount of snow at the time of the collision. The vehicle went off the roadway and rolled into the ditch. No injuries were reported. (2023-4596)

Cause a disturbance:

Two persons at a business on the 400 block of City Centre caused a disturbance and refused to leave, resulting in the Kitimat RCMP being called on December 3rd. Once the investigating Kitimat RCMP officer arrived, both parties complied with the direction to leave. They were advised they were no longer welcome to attend the business. (2023-4616)

No insurance, no drivers licence:

While making patrols for a vehicle that had caused excessive noise earlier in the evening of December 5th, a Kitimat RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop with a potential suspect vehicle. There was not enough evidence to suggest this was the vehicle being sought, however, it was found the vehicle had expired insurance, the driver was to be served a notice of prohibition and was failing to display an N. the driver was served the driving prohibition and issued a violation ticket for several violations including no insurance, no drivers license and fail to display ‘N sign. The vehicle was towed from the scene. (2023-4643)

Traffic complaint:

On December 6th, a pedestrian attended the Kitimat RCMP detachment to report that a vehicle had failed to stop for them at a crosswalk along Wakashan Ave. The pedestrian was able to provide enough information about the offending vehicle for the investigation officer to follow up and issue a violation ticket.
