Motor vehicle collision

2024-55

On January 10, 2024 a man reported a hit and run near town. He stated the mirror on his pickup truck was clipped by another truck which had driven off (he obtained the license plate). A Lillooet RCMP member responded to the call for service, the member spoke with both parties who both alleged the other was speeding with varying stories. The member completed a motor vehicle collision report from the information obtained from both parties, it was forwarded to ICBC. The matter was referred to ICBC.

House fire

2024-69

On January 11, 2024 Lillooet RCMP received a call from the Lillooet Fire Department advising of a house fire on Fraserview street. Lillooet RCMP attended and assisted in evacuating nearby neighbours temporarily as a precautionary measure. Lillooet Fire Department remained on scene until the fire was put out.

Check well being

2024-78

On January 12, 2024 a woman requested police check on her 94 year old brother living in Lytton, to assess his well being. A Lytton RCMP member attended and spoke with the elderly man who was well but having difficulty breathing. BC Ambulance Service attended and medically assessed him further. The caller was updated on police action.

Assault with weapon

2024-105

On January 19, 2024 a woman reported her that a man attended her residence in Lillooet and sprayed her and her cats with bear spray and then drove off. A Lillooet RCMP member attended and obtained a statement from the woman and another witness. The accused was located, arrested, and released on a court date with several conditions. Lillooet RCMP are recommending several criminal code charges against the accused in a report to be sent to the BC Prosecution Service.

Weapon call

2024-109

On January 19, 2024 Lillooet RCMP received a 3rd party report; reportedly an unknown male was seen walking in front of Light Foot gas station with a machete. Lillooet RCMP members and Stl’atl’imx Tribal police attended, a man was located walking in the area in front of traffic and detained. He produced no weapons on his person and denied having any. The man was subsequently given a ride to the shelter. No other person was seen with any weapons in the area. There were no further public safety concerns. The caller was updated.

Check well being

2024-127

On January 22, 2024 a woman called and requested police check on her client who made comments of committing suicide in Lytton. The male who made suicidal comments was spoken to by a Lytton RCMP member. The man had a long conversation with police and advised he had no such plans to harm himself, he would never leave his kids. The man was in contact with mental health resources and thanked the Lytton RCMP member for attending. A mental health nurse the man had been working with was spoken to and updated on the call for service and police interaction. There were no further concerns.

Shoplifting

2024-143

On January 25, 2024 a grocery store in Lillooet reported a woman was seen shoplifting a handful of items on camera the day prior. The store manager advised he was reporting for police awareness as he did not recognize the woman. A Lillooet RCMP member attended and documented the report.

Theft of vehicle

2024-142

On January 25, 2024 Lytton RCMP received a report of a unoccupied vehicle on fire near Trans Canada Hwy in Lytton. A Lytton RCMP member attended. Fire crews put out the fire. The owner of the vehicle was determined and contacted. The vehicle owner advised it was stolen at some point as the vehicle was parked near the Stein Valley school. The matter is still under investigation.
